Main Central Family Medicine Center
The 46 Group led delivery team officially handed over the Central Family Medicine Center to healthcare authorities in Mitrovica on January 7 of 2025. This marks a significant milestone in the completion of the project. In the spring of 2025, healthcare authorities will successfully relocate to the new facility, ensuring a seamless transition and the full operationalization of modern healthcare services.
The Main Central Family Medicine Center is a modern healthcare facility designed to provide essential medical and emergency services to the citizens of Mitrovica. This state-of-the-art institution, with a total net floor area of 8,500m², represents a significant investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring improved patient care and advanced medical services.
The facility is set to become a key healthcare hub, integrating primary and specialized medical services under one roof. The new center will transform the experience of both patients and healthcare professionals by providing a more efficient, spacious, and technologically advanced working environment.
The new facility is designed to support a broad spectrum of medical disciplines, including:
Family Medicine Services, Dentistry, Emergency Unit, Medical Analysis Laboratory, Vaccination Services, Radiology Services, including mammography, Central Pharmacy & Medication Storage, Consultation Rooms for Chronic Disease Management, Health Education & Training Spaces for students, trainees, and specialists and Modern Infrastructure & Facilities
Beyond core medical services, the center includes:
Library & Archives to support medical research and education, Meeting & Training Halls for professional development and staff training, Rest Areas to improve working conditions for medical personnel, Storage Facilities for essential medical equipment and supplies, Administrative & Technical Offices to ensure seamless hospital operations and Oxygen System Technical Room and Compressed Air System Technical Room, essential for emergency and intensive care support.
The handover will allow healthcare authorities in Mitrovica to begin their move-in program this spring, including relocating the wards from the old Central Family Medicine Center in Mitrovica. This transition marks a significant milestone in modernizing healthcare services in the region, ensuring a seamless integration of advanced medical care into a purpose-built facility.
With spacious and purpose-built medical facilities, the new building will significantly enhance patient experience, allowing for greater comfort, better accessibility, and improved clinical workflows. The architectural design of the center prioritizes patient-centered care, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and medical staff.
Patients are expected to begin receiving care in the new building in the spring of 2025.
